Current Volunteer Opportunities
Each Sunday we’d love to see you greeting fellow worshipers, leading our call to worship, sharing announcements, or helping with sound and recording. Email [email protected] if you are interested in how you can help make worship services at First German UMC even more special.
When First German UMC puts on an event, we often need help with set up, clean up, serving, and greeting those who arrive. When there is a community service component to an event, we may also need additional help receiving donations and providing information to participants. Email [email protected] if you would like to help First German UMC welcome all kinds of people to our campus.

Pastor Kurt Poland
Senior Pastor
From Denver, CO, Kurt has his Masters in Divinity from Emory University. While studying for the ministry, Pastor Kurt spent a year a the Georg-August Universität in Göttingen, Germany. He and his wife, Katherine, just welcomed their first son to the world in December 2021. They live in Eagle Rock, CA.
Anna Spring
Office Manager
Anna Spring serves as the church's office manager. She is in the office on Tuesday - Thursday from 9am - 2pm. Call or email to make an appointment if you would like to visit the office at a different time. Anna lives in Altadena with her husband, Justin, two dogs, two cats, two fish, and two avocado trees.
Keith Siemens
Caretaker
Loves God. Loves his wife. Loves his cat. Loves plants. He is serving as the church's caretaker. Keith maintains and cares for the facilities and grounds.
Sae Wan Yang
Director of Music & Organist
Sae Wan holds a Bachelor of Music degree, Bachelor of Science degree, Doctor of Musical Arts, Master of Music degree, and Certificate Diploma in organ performance She joined First German UMC in 2007 as Director of Music and Organist.
