Olive Crest
Olive Crest is dedicated to preventing child abuse by strengthening, equipping, and restoring children and families in crisis... One Life at a Time.
Olive Crest transforms the lives of children in crisis through the power of God, family, and community.
Olive Crest works with biological families, foster families, and host families to prevent abuse and create safe homes for children, teens, and young adults. They serve families with early intervention support, temporary placements to prevent loss of custody, and an extensive network of social support and resources to strengthen families.
May children, after aging out of the foster care system at age 18, are left without resources, connections, or a supporting adult to help them navigate the challenges of independent life. Olive Crest supports youth in foster care with independent life skills courses, counseling and mental health treatment, mentoring, and other education or training.
Olive Crest also provides case work support to families in the process of reunification or adoption.
First German UMC hosts Olive Crest families and staff for holidays and other events. It is important for families to feel connected to a community that can help support them. FGUMC enjoys helping Olive Crest build that sense of community by celebrating together with food and fellowship.
This year, FGUMC is hosting a friendsgiving lunch for the families near Glendale. We look forward to a delicious meal together and fun activities for kids.
Help us celebrate the families making a difference in the lives of kids in our community. Reach out to FGUMC’s office if you would like to help plan, cook, or serve at an Olive Crest event.Â
You can also contact the church office to let us know about your interest in training with Olive Crest to become a host family, foster family, or mentor for the kids they serve. FGUMC wants to be an additional resource of support for any families connected to the church as they step up to support kids in need in our community.
